Southland's character has been forged by the richness of its rural heritage. Yet it is a heritage at risk. By bringing together a spectrum of rural heritage interests and initiatives, this website aims to celebrate and safeguard what is left.

Use it

• if you belong to a heritage organisation and want to know whether other groups share common interests
• if you need access to a traditional rural craft skill or trade
• if you want to plan a visit that features rural heritage attractions
• if you want to research rural heritage information

The website has been set up with community funding and is managed by the Southland Rural Heritage Trust. In 2008 sponsorship from SBS Banking has made it possible for Southland rural heritage organisations and interests to have their own web pages for minimal cost.
